SecurCapital Corp. has acquired BIG Logistics, LLC, a Texas-based third-party logistics (3PL) provider with temperature-controlled pharmaceutical warehousing, fulfillment, and freight forwarding services. BIG Logistics will operate as a SecurCapital portfolio company and logistics platform to pursue targeted acquisitions, expand cold-chain and pharma capabilities, and grow its domestic and international services.

Cobalt Wine Logistics (Alba Wheels Up) Acquires North Coast Logistics, Inc.

Alba Wheels Up’s Cobalt Wine Logistics business unit, backed by private equity sponsor Southfield Capital, has acquired North Coast Logistics, Inc., a Petaluma-based wine consolidation and distribution specialist. The add-on expands Cobalt/Alba’s domestic over-the-road transportation and distribution capabilities, integrating NCL into Cobalt’s Napa warehousing and international logistics platform.

Watco Acquires Great Lakes Central Railroad

Watco has received federal approval from the Surface Transportation Board to acquire the 420-mile Great Lakes Central Railroad (GLC). The acquisition, effective September 28, requires Watco to keep currently active GLC gateways open on commercially competitive terms and follows Watco's prior equity investment in GLC since 2013.

Estes Logistics, a division of Estes Express Lines, has acquired Key Trucking Inc, a regional full-service transportation and freight provider based in Kent, Washington. The acquisition expands Estes' footprint into the Pacific Northwest and transfers all current Key Trucking employees to Estes while preserving the company's legacy under the Castagno family ownership transition.
