Warren Equity Partners Recapitalizes Gunnison Tree Services and Acquires New Urban Forestry

Warren Equity Partners recapitalized Gunnison Tree Services and acquired New Urban Forestry, combining the two companies under a single platform while New Urban Forestry will operate as a separate subsidiary. Matt Cathell, founder and CEO of Gunnison, will retain significant equity and remain CEO; financial terms were not disclosed. Warren Equity intends to support growth both organically and via accretive acquisitions in the vegetation management / arborist services space.

Garrison Capital Inc. to Merge with Portman Ridge Finance Corporation

Garrison Capital Inc. (Nasdaq: GARS) will merge with and into Portman Ridge Finance Corporation (Nasdaq: PTMN) under a definitive agreement approved by both boards. The combined company will be externally managed by Sierra Crest Investment Management (an affiliate of BC Partners) and is expected to deliver scale benefits, operational synergies and immediate accretion to net investment income per share; GARS stockholders will receive a mix of cash and PTMN shares plus a $5.0 million aggregate additional cash payment from Sierra Crest.

United Land Services Acquires Greenway Lawn & Landscape and Sanford Tree Service

United Land Services, a landscaping platform backed by Centre Partners and LP First Capital, acquired Greenway Lawn & Landscape, LLC and Sanford Tree Service Inc. as its sixteenth add-on to expand presence and service offerings in the Southeast. The combined Greenway business — founded in 2014 and headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida — will be integrated into United's platform to broaden commercial landscaping, maintenance, and tree-care capabilities; terms were not disclosed.
