Cambridge Mobile Telematics Acquires TrueMotion

Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) has acquired TrueMotion, a leading mobile telematics provider, in a deal that combines the two largest smartphone-based telematics platforms to accelerate product innovation and scale. The combined company will expand CMT’s reach across insurers, fleets, automakers and mobility customers globally and strengthen capabilities in AI-driven driving risk measurement and real-time crash detection.

Absolute Software Corporation completed its acquisition of NetMotion Software, Inc. from The Carlyle Group for approximately $340 million in cash, funded with about $65 million of cash on hand and a $275 million secured term loan from Benefit Street Partners. The deal integrates NetMotion's ZTNA and mobile VPN capabilities into Absolute's Endpoint Resilience platform to expand network access and zero-trust capabilities for remote and hybrid workforces.

NetMotion — which employs about 114 people and serves more than 3,500 organizations across utilities, healthcare, telecommunications, government and other sectors — will be scaled internationally with equity provided by two Carlyle funds.
