MyHeritage has acquired MesAieux.com, a Quebec-based genealogy service specializing in French-Canadian records, strengthening MyHeritage's presence in Canada and the Francophone market. MesAieux.com — which serves over one million users and houses roughly 15 million Canadian historical records — will have its content published on MyHeritage and its users will gain access to MyHeritage's matching technologies and platform features.

Blackstone Acquires Ancestry for $4.7 Billion

Blackstone's private equity funds have entered a definitive agreement to acquire Ancestry from Silver Lake, GIC, Spectrum Equity, Permira and other equity holders for an enterprise value of $4.7 billion; GIC will retain a significant minority stake. Blackstone said it will partner with Ancestry's management to invest in data, product development and global expansion of the company's family history and consumer genomics platform, which has more than 3 million paying subscribers and roughly $1 billion in annual revenue.

Ancestry Acquires iMemories

Ancestry has acquired iMemories, a Scottsdale-based leader in analog media digitization and cloud-based preservation, from investors Landon Capital Partners and Greens Farms Capital. The deal brings iMemories' AI-enhanced scanning and subscription media services into Ancestry's family-history platform to let customers digitize and integrate photos, videos, slides and films into their family trees.

Francisco Partners Acquires MyFitnessPal from Under Armour

Francisco Partners has agreed to acquire the MyFitnessPal platform from Under Armour for $345 million (including potential earn-outs), a transaction expected to close in Q4 2020 subject to customary conditions. Under Armour said the sale is part of a strategic simplification to focus on its core consumer business, while Francisco Partners plans to operate MyFitnessPal as a standalone company to pursue recurring-revenue growth.

Muse Group Acquires Hal Leonard with Investment from Francisco Partners
