Bluestone Investment Partners, a McLean, Virginia-based private equity firm, has made a strategic growth investment in Precise Systems, Inc., a Lexington Park, Maryland-based provider of engineering, program management and software development services to the U.S. Department of Defense. The transaction supports management continuity (Scott Pfister named CEO) and is intended to accelerate growth and enable strategic M&A to expand Precise Systems' capabilities and reach across DoD customers.

Precise Systems Acquires Tucson Embedded Systems

Precise Systems, a portfolio company of Bluestone Investment Partners, has acquired Tucson Embedded Systems (TES), a Tucson, Arizona-based hardware and software engineering firm specializing in model-based engineering and open-architecture avionics standards (FACE, SOSA). The acquisition is an add-on to Precise's Bluestone-backed platform, expanding its advanced engineering capabilities and bringing TES's proprietary AWESUM tool suite and SBIR-backed HOST Harmony test station into the platform.

Precise Systems Acquires Excet, Inc.

Precise Systems, a Bluestone Investment Partners-backed government services platform, has acquired Excet, Inc., a Springfield, Virginia-based provider of physical sciences research and engineering services to the U.S. Department of Defense. The deal, which closed on November 10, 2023, expands Precise’s capabilities in CBRNE, biotechnology, chemistry and related physical-sciences support for Army and Navy customers and represents Precise’s first acquisition since Bluestone’s investment earlier in 2023.

Precise Systems Acquires Jardon & Howard Technologies (JHT)

The acquisition expands Precise Systems' training and simulation capabilities for Department of Defense and other federal customers by integrating JHT's proxSIMity simulation framework and interactive courseware into its platform.

Precisely Acquires DTS Software

The acquisition expands Precisely’s mainframe optimization capabilities by adding DTS’s storage management products used by large enterprises across industries such as insurance, banking and retail.
