Accenture Acquires XtremeEDA to Expand Silicon Design and Edge Capabilities

Accenture has completed the acquisition of XtremeEDA, an Ottawa-based silicon design services firm, adding roughly 40 engineers to bolster Accenture Cloud First's silicon and edge computing capabilities in North America. Financial terms were not disclosed; the deal aims to expand Accenture's specialized semiconductor engineering, verification and hardware security capabilities for clients in consumer devices, cloud/datacenter and AI/ML platforms.

Wipro Acquires Eximius Design

Wipro Limited has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Eximius Design, a San Jose-based engineering services firm specializing in semiconductor (SoC, ASIC, FPGA), systems and embedded software design. The acquisition will fold Eximius into Wipro’s EngineeringNXT framework to strengthen Wipro's capabilities in VLSI and systems design services and is expected to close in the quarter ending December 31, 2020, subject to customary approvals.

Fusion Capital Partners Acquires Excel Engineering, Inc.

Los Angeles-based private equity firm Fusion Capital Partners has acquired Excel Engineering, a Diagonal, Iowa-based testing and certification firm that provides engine, powertrain, battery and emissions testing services to OEM and industrial customers. The transaction (terms undisclosed) is positioned as a growth-oriented, capability-expanding platform investment to scale Excel's testing capacity, capabilities and talent; Monroe Capital acted as a joint lead arranger on the senior credit facility supporting the deal.

Accenture Acquires Cientra to Expand Silicon Design Capabilities

Macquarie Capital and Advencap Acquire Majority Stake in CloudExtel
