Astra Capital Management Acquires Majority Stake in DartPoints

Astra Capital Management has made a majority investment in DartPoints, an owner and operator of edge colocation data centers, to fund North American expansion through a buy-and-build strategy. As part of the transaction, telecommunications executive Scott Willis joined DartPoints as President & CEO and several Astra partners and industry executives joined the board to support growth.

Fort Point Capital Invests in Nova

Boston-based private equity firm Fort Point Capital has made a platform investment in Nova (formerly Polar), a Toronto-based provider of creative automation software for digital advertising. The investment will support Nova’s product evolution and commercial expansion while the company remains led by founder and CEO Kunal Gupta and senior management.

DartPoints Acquires Metro Data Centers

DartPoints, a Dallas-based owner and operator of edge colocation data centers, has acquired Metro Data Centers (MDC), a carrier-neutral data center provider in Dublin, Ohio. The acquisition expands DartPoints' regional footprint and adds over 22,000 square feet of colocation and carrier-neutral interconnection capacity to support cloud and content service providers in Central Ohio.

DartPoints Acquires Immedion

DartPoints has signed definitive agreements to acquire Immedion, a Greenville, South Carolina-based provider of colocation, cloud and managed services operating eight data centers across seven markets. The acquisition—backed by Astra Capital Management and expected to close in Q2 2021—more than doubles DartPoints' edge colocation footprint and expands its interconnection capabilities into additional tier‑2 and tier‑3 U.S. markets.

Argo Infrastructure Partners Increases Stake in TierPoint

Argo Infrastructure Partners acquired the equity interests held by the majority of TierPoint's minority shareholders, further increasing Argo's ownership in the data center platform; financial terms were not disclosed and the transaction has closed. The move brings total capital formation under Argo's ownership to $3.0 billion and is intended to deepen support for TierPoint's national expansion of its 40 data centers across 20 markets and continued financing strategy.

NOVA Infrastructure Acquires Majority Stake in telMAX

NOVA Infrastructure, alongside Quintana Infrastructure & Development (QID), completed an investment in telMAX Inc., with NOVA acquiring a majority interest. The capital will be used to accelerate telMAX's buildout of a 100% fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network in targeted suburban markets across the Greater Toronto Area, with first FTTH customers expected in Q2 2021.
