Summit Equity Group Acquires CAI Custom Alloys

Summit Equity Group, a Des Moines-based private investment firm, has acquired CAI Custom Alloys, Inc., a Belvidere, Illinois processor of high-performance superalloy scrap. The transaction — advised by Dresner Partners — will allow CAI to accelerate market penetration and expand its capabilities supplying nickel-, cobalt- and specialty-superalloy materials to aerospace and high-performance industrial customers; financial terms were not disclosed.

EQI Ltd. Acquires Ferralloy, Inc.

EQI Ltd. has acquired Ferralloy, Inc., a Cleveland-based supplier of heat-resistant alloy castings, forgings, machined components and specialty raw materials. The deal will fold Ferralloy into EQI's portfolio (alongside Pro-Tech) to expand EQI's thermal processing and metal components capabilities and broaden its customer base and supply-chain footprint.

Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. Acquires American Alloy Steel, Inc.

Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire all outstanding equity interests and related real estate assets of American Alloy Steel, Inc., a Houston-based distributor and fabricator of specialty carbon and alloy steel plate and round bar. The acquisition adds specialty plate and new fabrication/value-added processing capabilities to Reliance's portfolio; American Alloy reported approximately $310 million in sales for the 12 months ended Dec. 31, 2023.

Precision Metal Holdings Acquires General Metals, LLC

Precision Metal Holdings, a Farragut Capital Partners portfolio platform, has acquired General Metals, LLC — a North Carolina-based precision metal fabricator — with Farragut providing subordinated debt and preferred equity and Everside Capital Partners joining as a co-investor. The deal is an add-on to the Precision Metals platform that expands the company’s geographic footprint in the Southeastern United States and enhances its capabilities in stamping, forming, welding, precision machining and electromechanical assembly.

Lincoln Electric Acquires Remaining Interest in Alloy Steel

Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc. acquired the remaining 65% interest in Alloy Steel Australia (Int) Pty Ltd, bringing Alloy Steel into full ownership. Alloy Steel, a Perth-based manufacturer of proprietary wear plate solutions, engineering services and digital monitoring for the mining sector (primarily Asia Pacific), generates approximately USD 50 million in annual revenue and will be reported in Lincoln Electric’s International Welding segment.
