Turner Supply, a family-owned industrial distributor headquartered in Mobile, Alabama, acquired Progressive Supply, a Woodstock, Georgia-based MRO solutions provider; the transaction closed January 31, 2026. Progressive Supply will operate as Turner Supply's ninth location, marking Turner's formal entry into the Atlanta and North Georgia markets and preserving the existing Progressive team and customer relationships.

City of Los Angeles Acquires Angel City Press

The City of Los Angeles, working with law firm Raines Feldman Littrell LLP, accepted a donation of the archives and operations of Santa Monica–based independent publisher Angel City Press. The acquisition enables the Los Angeles Public Library to enter book publishing to support local authors, expand access to literary works, and further the library's literacy and community engagement mission.

Sterling Publishing Acquires Boxer Books

Sterling Publishing Co., Inc. (via its Union Square & Co. imprint) has acquired London-based children’s publisher Boxer Books, adding more than 200 backlist titles and several frontlist projects to Union Square Kids and the Boxer Books imprint. Boxer Books founder and publisher David Bennett will continue to lead the imprint and report to Union Square & Co.’s Chief Creative Officer, with distribution relationships maintained in the U.S. and U.K.

Emerald Publishing Acquires now publishers

Emerald Publishing Limited has acquired now publishers, adding over 50 books, 14 peer-reviewed journals and 28 Foundations and Trends serials to its portfolio. Innovative Companies, Inc., a portfolio company of Proviso Capital, has acquired Taylor Studios, Inc., an exhibit planning, design and fabrication firm based in Rantoul, Illinois. The deal, which closed December 15, 2021, is an add-on to Innovative Companies' platform as Proviso continues to build a global display, exhibit and sign manufacturing group; seller Betty Brennan will retain a continued role post-sale.

Penguin Random House Australia Acquires Text Publishing

Penguin Random House Australia has agreed to acquire Melbourne-based Text Publishing, bringing the 35-year-old independent trade publisher into the Penguin Random House family. Text will retain editorial independence under an agreed charter while PRH will handle ANZ sales and support the publisher’s future growth; the sale follows ownership by Michael Heyward and Penny Hueston in partnership with Maureen and Tony Wheeler.
