Bentley Systems has acquired INRO, a Montreal-based developer of multimodal transportation planning, traffic simulation (Dynameq) and mobility visualization (CityPhi) software, including the Emme planning system. Terms were not disclosed; the acquisition strengthens Bentley's transportation and mobility simulation capabilities and supports its goal of delivering multimodal mobility digital twins.

Bentley Systems Acquires SPIDA Software

Bentley Systems has acquired SPIDA Software, a Columbus, Ohio-based developer of specialized utility pole design, analysis, and asset management software. The acquisition (advised by 7 Mile Advisors to SPIDA) adds approximately 26 colleagues to Bentley and will integrate SPIDA's structural analysis and pole-management capabilities into Bentley's OpenUtilities grid digital twin and cloud services to support grid modernization and 5G/EV infrastructure demands.

Ansys Acquires Diakopto

Ansys entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Diakopto, a provider of differentiated EDA solutions focused on interconnect parasitic analysis for integrated circuits. The acquisition is intended to expand Ansys' multiphysics simulation and signoff capabilities—helping IC designers detect parasitic-related issues earlier in the design flow—and was expected to close in Q2 2023 subject to customary conditions.

Bentley Systems Acquires Talon Aerolytics and Pointivo Technology

Bentley Systems acquired Talon Aerolytics and the technology and technical expertise of Pointivo to strengthen its Asset Analytics portfolio. The deals (closed in December) expand Bentley's digital twin and AI capabilities for infrastructure asset inspections, drone data processing, and automated damage detection across telecommunications and electric utilities.

Synopsys Acquires Ansys

Synopsys has acquired Ansys in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at about $35 billion, combining Synopsys' electronic design automation (EDA) and IP capabilities with Ansys' simulation and analysis portfolio to create an integrated "silicon-to-systems" engineering leader. The deal, announced January 16, 2024 and completed July 17, 2025, positions the combined company to deliver integrated multiphysics and EDA solutions across semiconductors, automotive, aerospace and other industries.

Bentley Systems Acquires EasyPower

Bentley Systems has acquired EasyPower, a Portland, Oregon-based developer of power systems design and analysis software, to broaden its infrastructure digital twin and electrical modeling capabilities. The acquisition adds approximately 45 EasyPower colleagues and will integrate EasyPower's workflows with Bentley's iTwin platform and engineering applications to improve power distribution design, safety, and resilience across infrastructure sectors.
