Bausch + Lomb Affiliate Acquires Whitecap Biosciences

An affiliate of Bausch + Lomb Corporation has acquired clinical-stage Whitecap Biosciences, LLC, which is developing two ophthalmic therapies (WB007 and WB006) for glaucoma and geographic atrophy. The deal strengthens Bausch + Lomb's clinical-stage pipeline — Whitecap completed a Phase 2 study for WB007 and plans additional trials for both indications.

Bausch + Lomb Acquires Elios Vision

Bausch + Lomb Corporation (through an affiliate) has acquired Elios Vision, Inc., developer of the ELIOS excimer-laser MIGS system, expanding Bausch + Lomb's glaucoma surgical capabilities and complementing its cataract surgery portfolio. The ELIOS technology, currently CE marked and marketed in the EU, is undergoing pursuit of FDA approval and will be commercialized more broadly through Bausch + Lomb's global cataract surgery channels.

Hilco Vision Acquires Bruder Healthcare

Hilco Vision, a portfolio company of Windjammer Capital Investors, has acquired Bruder Healthcare effective September 17, 2021; terms were not disclosed. Bruder, a maker of therapeutic and ophthalmic dry-eye products based in Alpharetta, Georgia, will be integrated into Hilco’s product portfolio as the transaction represents a PE-backed add-on to expand Hilco’s offerings to eye care professionals and consumers.
