Janus International Acquires Steel Storage Australasia

Janus International Group, LLC, a Clearlake Capital–backed provider of turn-key self-storage building solutions, has acquired Steel Storage Australasia, a Brisbane-based designer and builder of self-storage facilities. Financial terms were not disclosed; the acquisition expands Janus' product, technology and construction capabilities in the Australian market, including its Nokē Smart Entry and mobile storage solutions.

Jungheinrich AG is acquiring Indiana-based Storage Solutions group from Merit Capital Partners, MFG Partners and Storage Solutions' management for a purchase price of approximately USD 375 million plus a performance-based earnout. The deal gives Jungheinrich a U.S. platform in racking, warehouse design and automation (Storage Solutions: ~170 employees, ~USD 290M revenue in 2022) and is expected to close in Q2 2023 subject to customary conditions including U.S. merger clearance.

The carve-out (rebranded Ventora Group) operates ~41 manufacturing sites across Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia, employs roughly 5,000 people, and will be run by Scott Kelly as CEO while Platinum invests in capacity, automation and IT improvements to capitalize on rising energy-efficiency demand.
