Revolution Acquires Polar Plastics from Spell Capital Partners

Revolution, a Little Rock-based manufacturer of sustainable plastic solutions, acquired Polar Plastics Corporation from Spell Capital Partners to expand its production footprint and deepen penetration into packaging, agriculture and retail end markets. Polar Plastics is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota and operates a 100,000-square-foot polyethylene film and bag manufacturing facility; Spell Capital had owned the business since 2018.

Revolution Sustainable Solutions, LLC has acquired Island Plastics, LLC, a Flint, Michigan-based producer of 100% post-consumer recycled LLDPE/LDPE film-grade resin. The purchase expands Revolution’s mechanical recycling and PCR production capabilities — including plans to leverage its recent FDA Letter of No Objection to offer clear food-grade PCR for flexible food packaging and other end markets.

Revolution Sustainable Solutions (Revolution), a U.S.-based recycling and sustainable plastics manufacturer, has acquired PolyAg Recycling Ltd., a mechanical agricultural film recycler based in Bashaw, Alberta, Canada. The acquisition expands Revolution's recycling capacity and North American footprint for agricultural film circular solutions, while PolyAg's operations and employees are expected to continue under Revolution's ownership.

Arsenal Capital Partners Acquires Controlling Interest in Revolution; The Stephens Group Takes Minority Stake

Arsenal Capital Partners has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a controlling interest in Revolution, a Little Rock-based manufacturer of sustainable, closed-loop plastic products. The Stephens Group concurrently invested a significant minority stake to support Arsenal's investment; Revolution’s founder Dhu Thompson and CEO Sean Whiteley will remain investors and board members. Terms were not disclosed.

Revolution Acquires Jadcore to Expand Midwest Closed‑Loop Plastics Capabilities

Revolution (an Arsenal Capital Partners portfolio company) acquired Jadcore, LLC, a Terre Haute, Indiana-based post-industrial plastics recycler and blown-film manufacturer, to expand Revolution’s closed‑loop manufacturing capabilities and Midwest footprint. The seller was Stonehenge Partners, which realized its investment in Jadcore following a 2014 recapitalization; the transaction was announced in February 2021.
