Capitol Food Company Acquires Allied Sales & Distribution, Inc.

Capitol Food Company acquired the assets and goodwill of Allied Sales & Distribution, Inc., effective February 27, 2022. Allied, a Vernon, California-based specialty bakery ingredient distributor and third-party storage/logistics provider with more than 53 years of history, will be integrated to expand CFC's warehousing, distribution footprint and product offering in the bakery and functional food ingredients market.

AMCON Distributing Company Acquires Henry's Foods, Inc.

AMCON Distributing Company (NYSE American: DIT) has acquired Henry's Foods, Inc., a foodservice and convenience-store distributor based in Alexandria, Minnesota. Henry's will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary led by President Kellie Janssen, with the acquisition intended to add foodservice capabilities and broader geographic reach to AMCON's convenience distribution platform.

Groupe Commensal / New Alasko Acquire Alasko Foods' Assets

New Alasko Limited Partnership, formed by Groupe Commensal Inc. and Avrio Subordinated Debt LP II (a Farm Credit Canada investment vehicle), acquired certain assets of Alasko Foods Inc. and Alasko Foods LLC. The court-approved transaction, completed in October 2020, brings Alasko's frozen fruit and vegetable sourcing and commercialization capabilities into Commensal's food manufacturing and distribution platform.

GS Foods Group Acquires C&C Produce

GS Foods Group, a specialized foodservice distributor owned by affiliates of Highview Capital and A&M Capital Partners, has acquired C&C Produce, a Kansas City–based specialty produce distributor established in 1992. The C&C co-owners will continue to lead operations from their existing facility as the deal expands GS Foods' geographic footprint and produce capabilities across education, foodservice and retail end markets.

Ferraro Foods Acquires GDS Foods Inc.

New Jersey-based Ferraro Foods has acquired GDS Foods Inc., a Sussex, New Jersey importer and distributor of Italian food products that serves pizzerias across New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The acquisition expands Ferraro's distribution footprint in key Northeast pizza markets, bringing GDS’s ~ $50 million in annual sales and a loyal customer base into Ferraro’s network.

Conagra Brands has completed the sale of its 51.8% ownership stake in India-based Agro Tech Foods Limited (ATFL) to funds advised by Convergent Finance and Samara Capital. The divestiture is part of Conagra’s portfolio reshaping strategy; ATFL is a packaged-foods and edible-oils company (Sundrop/ACT II brands) headquartered in Thane, Maharashtra, India.
