Consco Foods Acquires Allied Food Distributors

Consco Foods Inc. has acquired Montreal-based Allied Food Distributors, a longtime importer and distributor of kosher food brands. Allied's operations will be integrated into Consco's 140,000 sq. ft. distribution center while operating as a division, and Consco has been named the exclusive Canadian importer/distributor for Agri Star Meat & Poultry's Aaron's Best brand effective August 1, 2025.

ASKO Holding (Başak Traktör) to Acquire Majority of Buhler Industries

ASKO Holding, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Başak Traktör, has agreed to acquire approximately 96.7% of the common shares of Buhler Industries Inc. and purchase outstanding debt owed to Rostselmash for an aggregate cash consideration of CAD$60.5 million. The deal, which purchases shares from Combine Factory Rostselmash Ltd., is intended to support ASKO's expansion into the North American agricultural equipment market and is expected to close by year-end or early January 2024.

Azelis Acquires Gillco Ingredients

PlantPlus Foods Acquires Sol Cuisine Ltd.

PlantPlus Foods, a joint venture backed by ADM and Marfrig, has completed the acquisition of Canadian plant-based food maker Sol Cuisine Ltd., expanding its portfolio and production footprint across the Americas. The deal brings Sol Cuisine’s branded and private-label plant-based protein products into PlantPlus’s vertically integrated platform to support expanded commercialization and distribution in North America.

Unilever Acquires Yasso Holdings, Inc.

Unilever has agreed to acquire Yasso Holdings, Inc., a U.S. premium frozen Greek yogurt brand, to bolster the premiumisation of its Ice Cream Business Group in North America. The acquisition, announced from Unilever's Englewood Cliffs office, will add Yasso's better‑for‑you frozen dessert portfolio (sold in grocery and club stores nationwide) to Unilever's ice cream brands and is expected to close in Q3 2023 subject to approvals.

Frontenac Acquires Majority Stake in Crofter's Organic

Frontenac, a Chicago-based private equity firm, has acquired a majority interest in Crofter's Organic, a Parry Sound, Ontario-based manufacturer of branded and private-label organic fruit spreads. The Latka family will retain a significant financial stake and Apu Mody will join as Executive Chairman as the company looks to expand market penetration and accelerate growth across North America.
