Raleigh, North Carolina-based Empire Equipment Company has acquired Long Island, New York-based Empire Bakery Equipment Co., expanding its wholesale distribution platform for commercial foodservice and bakery equipment. The deal adds scale in the Northeast and increases Empire's nationwide footprint to twelve distribution locations; Empire is backed by PNC Riverarch.

Pie Guys Restaurants LLC, led by Mike Kern and Chip Hurst, has acquired Rapid Fired Pizza LLC from founder Ray Wiley. Rapid Fired Pizza is a Kettering, Ohio–based fast-casual pizza franchisor with roughly 33 locations across six states; the new owners plan franchise expansion and growth into non-traditional channels. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Rise Baking Company Acquires Two Pie Facilities from Wonder Brands and FGF Brands

Rise Baking Company, a Minneapolis-based portfolio company of Olympus Partners, has acquired two pie facilities (in Kent, Washington and Brampton, Ontario) from Wonder Brands Holdings Inc. and FGF Brands (USA) Inc. The acquisition expands Rise’s product offering into the pie category, increasing its North American footprint to 18 facilities and strengthening its service to retail and foodservice customers.

Tenex Capital Management Acquires JTM Foods (JJ's Bakery)

The acquisition expands Rise's pie capabilities and footprint—bringing the combined Rise business to 20 manufacturing facilities and approximately 3,700 employees across the US and Canada.
