Kloeckner Metals Acquires Industrial Manufacturing Services

Klöckner & Co, through its U.S. subsidiary Kloeckner Metals Corporation (KMC), has acquired Industrial Manufacturing Services (IMS), a Lancaster, South Carolina-based metal fabricator. IMS, which operates a single facility with about 100 employees and annual sales around USD 30 million, will expand KMC’s fabrication, welding and just-in-time warehousing capabilities across North America; financial terms were not disclosed.

MSC Industrial Supply Co. has acquired KAR Industrial Inc., a Canadian metalworking distributor that operates three facilities in Mississauga, Montreal and Edmonton. KAR will continue to operate under its Duramill and Omnitool divisions with Ward Meek remaining in daily management; the business reported approximately US$16 million in 2023 revenue and 45 employees. MSC said the acquisition expands its metalworking footprint in Canada and will provide KAR customers access to MSC's broader product portfolio and e-commerce channel.
