Klöckner & Co SE Acquires National Material of Mexico

Klöckner & Co SE, via its U.S. subsidiary Kloeckner Metals Corporation (KMC), completed the acquisition of National Material of Mexico (NMM), a leading independent steel service center and materials supplier with ten facilities across Mexico. The acquisition expands KMC's footprint in Mexico and strengthens its presence in automotive and industrial end markets; as a combined company the group operates 56 sites with around 2,600 employees. NMM's experienced management team will remain and the business will be integrated stepwise under the Kloeckner Metals brand.

MSC Industrial Supply Co. Acquires KAR Industrial Inc.

MSC Industrial Supply Co. has acquired KAR Industrial Inc., a Canadian metalworking distributor that operates three facilities in Mississauga, Montreal and Edmonton. KAR will continue to operate under its Duramill and Omnitool divisions with Ward Meek remaining in daily management; the business reported approximately US$16 million in 2023 revenue and 45 employees. MSC said the acquisition expands its metalworking footprint in Canada and will provide KAR customers access to MSC's broader product portfolio and e-commerce channel.

Commercial Contracting Corporation Acquires Industrial Maintenance Specialists

Commercial Contracting Corporation (CCC), an employee-owned general contractor based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, has acquired Industrial Maintenance Specialists (IMS), a millwright and rigging contractor in Gas City, Indiana. The deal expands CCC's Indiana presence and adds specialized millwright and rigging capabilities to its self-performing services; prior owner Dan Soultz will support the transition.

Integrated Global Services Acquires Coatings and Materials Business from Liquidmetal Industrial Solutions

Integrated Global Services, Inc. (IGS) has acquired the engineered coatings and materials business (the "Coatings and Materials Business") of Liquidmetal Industrial Solutions. The Chattanooga-based business, which specializes in high-performance thermal spray application services and materials (including patented Armacor technologies), will join IGS to expand its asset integrity and surface enhancement capabilities; Liquidmetal will continue to operate its remaining mechanical and inspection services.

Russel Metals Acquires Seven U.S. Service Centers from Kloeckner

Russel Metals Inc. has closed the acquisition of seven U.S. metal service centers from Kloeckner Metals Corporation for US$102 million, subject to normal-course working capital adjustments. The acquired centers are located in Dubuque (Iowa), Charlotte (North Carolina), Suwanee (Georgia), Houston (Texas), Austin (Texas), Jacksonville (Florida) and Pompano Beach (Florida), and the deal expands Russel's U.S. footprint in key geographic areas.

Kellermeyer Bergensons Services (KBS), a portfolio company of Cerberus Capital Management, has acquired Kimco Holdings, LLC and Kimco Facility Services, LLC, a national provider of commercial cleaning and facility maintenance headquartered in Atlanta. The add-on expands KBS' scale and capabilities across business and industrial end markets and marks KBS' 15th acquisition in four years as it strengthens its position as the largest privately held facility services company in North America.
