Southern Bancorp, Inc. has closed its acquisition of Ozarks Heritage Financial Group, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary Legacy Bank & Trust, a $1.9 billion asset CDFI headquartered in Springfield, Missouri. The deal creates a nearly $5 billion asset community development financial institution and expands Southern Bancorp’s branch footprint across Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Merit Financial Advisors Acquires Olympic Wealth Management

Merit Financial Advisors, a Georgia-based wealth management firm, has acquired Bothell, Washington-based Olympic Wealth Management, adding $204 million of assets and a fifth Washington office. The merger, finalized June 13, 2025, brings Olympic’s advisors into Merit’s team to expand the firm’s Pacific Northwest presence and specialized service to Seattle–Tacoma aerospace clients.

Ryerson Holding Corporation Completes Merger with Olympic Steel, Inc.

Ryerson Holding Corporation and Olympic Steel, Inc. have completed a merger in which Ryerson issued 1.7105 shares of its common stock for each share of Olympic Steel, leaving former Olympic Steel shareholders with approximately 37% of the combined company. The transaction creates the second-largest North American metals service center, with expected annual synergies of about $120 million by early 2028 from procurement, scale, operational efficiencies, commercial enhancements, and footprint optimization.

Hope Bancorp Acquires Territorial Bancorp

Territorial Savings will operate as a division of Bank of Hope and Territorial shareholders received 0.8048 shares of Hope Bancorp common stock for each Territorial share, creating the largest regional bank serving multi-cultural customers across the continental United States and Hawaii.

Sound Credit Union Acquires Washington Business Bank

Sound Credit Union (Tacoma) completed the acquisition of Washington Business Bank (Olympia), assuming all assets and substantially all liabilities and converting the bank’s systems. The deal increases Sound’s total assets to over $3 billion and expands its branch footprint to 26 full-service locations, adding deposits, loans and local banking capability in downtown Olympia.

Eastern Bankshares, Inc. Acquires HarborOne Bancorp, Inc.

Eastern Bankshares, Inc. completed the previously announced merger with HarborOne Bancorp, Inc., effective November 1, 2025. Under the merger agreement HarborOne shareholders received either Eastern stock (subject to proration) or cash, and Eastern issued approximately 26.94 million shares in connection with the transaction, expanding Eastern’s branch and commercial banking footprint in eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
