Liberty Strategic Capital Acquires Zimperium

Liberty Strategic Capital, the private equity firm led by former U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, has acquired Zimperium, a Dallas-based leader in mobile device and application security, in a transaction of approximately $525 million. Liberty will use the investment to accelerate Zimperium’s growth—organically and via strategic acquisitions—with Secretary Mnuchin chairing Zimperium’s board and SoftBank remaining a minority investor.

NTT Security Corporation Acquires WhiteHat Security

OpenText Acquires Zix Corporation

OpenText completed the acquisition of Zix Corporation, a SaaS-based email encryption, threat protection and compliance cloud provider for SMBs, for $8.50 per share in a transaction valued at approximately $860 million. The deal expands OpenText's SMB cloud portfolio, brings roughly 5,600 managed service partners, deepens its Microsoft relationship, and is expected to be accretive to adjusted EBITDA and ARR.

Lookout Acquires CipherCloud to Deliver Endpoint-to-Cloud Security

Lookout, Inc. acquired cloud-native security vendor CipherCloud to combine Lookout’s mobile/endpoint security with CipherCloud’s SASE capabilities (CASB, ZTNA, SWG, DLP). The acquisition positions Lookout to offer an integrated endpoint-to-cloud security platform serving large enterprises and government customers; CipherCloud’s founder Pravin Kothari will join Lookout as EVP, Product and Strategy, SASE. Financial terms were not disclosed.
