TerrAscend Corp. entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Derby 1, LLC (d/b/a Peninsula Alternative Health), an 8,500 sq ft medical cannabis dispensary in Salisbury, Maryland, for total consideration of US$22.1 million, including US$1.5 million in cash. The acquisition, expected to be immediately accretive to EBITDA and cashflow, expands TerrAscend's retail footprint to 35 dispensaries and positions the company ahead of Maryland's July 1, 2023 adult-use launch.

Columbia Care Completes Acquisition of CannAscend

Columbia Care Inc. completed its acquisition of Ohio-based CannAscend, the owner and operator of four dispensaries in Dayton, Logan, Marietta and Monroe, effective July 1. The transaction (originally structured as a purchase option agreement in 2018) will be settled with $14.2 million paid from escrow and will consolidate CannAscend into Columbia Care's Ohio operations, strengthening the company's vertically integrated footprint in the state.

Ascend Wellness Holdings Acquires Ohio Cannabis Company (Coshocton Dispensary)

Ascend Wellness Holdings, Inc. completed the acquisition of Ohio Cannabis Clinic, LLC (d/b/a Ohio Cannabis Company) and its licensed medical cannabis dispensary in Coshocton, Ohio. The deal expands AWH's Ohio retail footprint (its second dispensary in the state) as the company plans to migrate acquired brands to the Ascend banner and continue growing in the state.

Bayou City Hemp Company Acquires LeafLife Wellness

(LeafLife Wellness), a Dallas-based CBD retail company that formulates, manufactures and distributes CBD-infused skincare, cosmetics and wellness products. The acquisition vertically integrates Bayou City Hemp’s supply chain—LeafLife will use Bayou City Hemp distillate and isolate—and expands the acquirer’s retail, white-label and online distribution capabilities; the deal is expected to be accretive to earnings.

cbdMD Acquires Substantially All Assets of Bluebird Botanicals

(NYSE American: YCBD) acquired substantially all assets of Bluebird Botanicals in early January 2026 to integrate Bluebird's regulatory science, safety and IP assets into cbdMD's clinical and toxicology platform. The deal strengthens cbdMD's regulatory-compliance and GRAS capabilities for both broad-spectrum and full-spectrum cannabinoid formulations and is expected to contribute to revenue growth and expanded product safety dossiers.

Abacus Health Products Acquires Harmony Hemp

Abacus Health Products acquired the principal assets of the companies owning the Harmony Hemp brand for aggregate consideration of US$5.5 million payable in cash and subordinate voting shares over 24 months. Harmony Hemp, based in Salt Lake City, is a CBD-infused personal care brand with distribution in more than 4,000 U.S. retail locations and generated approximately US$2.2 million of revenue in 2019; the brand's founders will join Abacus' senior management and the acquisition was completed through Abacus' wholly owned subsidiary Abacus Wellness, Inc.
