Ascent Technologies, a provider of AI-enabled regulatory compliance solutions, has acquired UK-based Waymark, a horizon scanning and compliance workflow provider. The deal—announced after Ascent's recent investment by Edgewater Equity Partners—integrates Waymark's horizon scanning capabilities into Ascent's obligations management platform to expand regulatory coverage across the US, EU and UK.

Energy Services Group Acquires Ascent Software Assets from Alpine Energy Systems

Energy Services Group (ESG) expanded its commercial relationship with Nordic Energy Services and acquired the software assets of Alpine Energy Systems, including the Ascent customer and broker portal. The assets add SaaS capabilities — billing, data management, contact-center support, sales management and analytics — to ESG's retail energy platform; terms were not disclosed.

Horizon Capital Majority Investment in Ascent Software; Ascent Acquires TechHuddle

Horizon Capital has made a majority investment in Ascent Software and simultaneously completed the acquisition of TechHuddle in a combined £30m transaction. The deal creates a scaled technology services platform headquartered in Reading (with delivery centres in Malta and Bulgaria), giving Ascent over 100 clients and more than 300 developers to accelerate organic growth and further buy-and-build activity.

Ascend Technologies LLC, a Midwest-based managed services provider backed by private equity firm M/C Partners, has merged with Infogressive, a Lincoln, Nebraska–based cybersecurity/MSSP firm. The add-on transaction expands Ascend's cybersecurity and cloud capabilities and creates a combined organization of more than 150 U.S.-based technical and security professionals with offices in Chicago, Illinois and Lincoln, Nebraska.
