Thomson Reuters signed a definitive agreement to acquire Casetext, the San Francisco–based legal technology provider behind the AI legal assistant CoCounsel, for $650 million in cash. The deal, intended to accelerate Thomson Reuters’ generative AI roadmap and enhance its legal product suite, was expected to close in the second half of 2023 and is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
