Allovue, an education finance technology company, has acquired Equiday, an EdFinTech firm based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Allovue will integrate Equiday’s funding-formula technology (Allocate Pro) into its product suite to enhance resource-equity budgeting and strategic planning for K-12 districts; terms were not disclosed. Key Equiday executives Justin Dayhoff and Megan Rainbow will join Allovue.

Bain Capital Acquires PowerSchool

Bain Capital has completed the acquisition of PowerSchool Holdings, a Folsom, California-based provider of cloud-based K-12 education software, for $22.80 per share in cash, valuing the company at approximately $5.6 billion. Vista Equity Partners and Onex Partners retain minority stakes; the deal takes PowerSchool private to accelerate product innovation (including its PowerBuddy generative AI platform) and expand its global reach.

PowerSchool Acquires Hoonuit from Renovus Capital Partners

PowerSchool has acquired Hoonuit, a leading K-12 education analytics and data management provider, from Renovus Capital Partners. The deal adds Hoonuit’s analytics and data-management capabilities—supporting more than 14.5 million students and multiple state deployments—to PowerSchool’s K-12 product portfolio to deliver unified analytics across SIS, LMS, enrollment, ERP and talent systems.

PowerSchool to Acquire Kickboard

PowerSchool has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Kickboard, a provider of K-12 behavior management and social-emotional learning (SEL) software, to integrate Kickboard’s capabilities into PowerSchool’s Unified Classroom. The acquisition is intended to give educators a more comprehensive view of student behavior and wellbeing by combining behavior management, SIS, LMS, and analytics; Kickboard and PowerSchool will continue to operate separately until the transaction closes.

PowerSchool Acquires Kinvolved

The acquisition will integrate Kinvolved's messaging and attendance capabilities into PowerSchool's Unified Home solution to strengthen school-to-home communications and support efforts to reduce chronic absenteeism.

GovExec Acquires Power Almanac

GovExec, the leading information and intent-based marketing platform for the public sector, has acquired Power Almanac, a business intelligence application containing comprehensive contact and decision-maker data for U.S. local governments. The deal — completed with financial support from Growth Catalyst Partners, which previously invested in GovExec — will integrate Power Almanac's 300,000+ local government records into GovExec's state and local platform to expand data-driven marketing, lead generation, and CRM capabilities for public-sector contractors.
