Bentley Systems Acquires Seequent

Bentley Systems completed the acquisition of Seequent Holdings Limited for approximately $900 million in cash plus 3,141,342 BSY Class B shares, adding Seequent's 3D geological modelling and cloud geodata capabilities to Bentley's infrastructure engineering software portfolio. The deal was a purchase of the majority stake previously held by Accel-KKR and is intended to expand Bentley's subsurface and geoscience capabilities across infrastructure, energy, and natural resources markets.

Bentley Systems' Seequent business unit has acquired Denver-based Advanced Resources and Risk Technology, LLC (AR2Tech), a developer of geostatistical software and algorithms. The acquisition adds AR2Tech's high-performance geostatistics algorithms, IP, and cloud/desktop workflows to Seequent's geological modeling solutions to strengthen capabilities for mining, environmental sciences, and energy users.

The acquisition (following Seequent's prior minority stake and exclusive partnership) expands Seequent's cloud data-collection and collaboration capabilities for mining exploration, resource development, and production workflows.

AMCS Acquires Quentic

AMCS, a Limerick-based provider of cloud software and vehicle technology for environmental and recycling industries, has acquired Berlin-based Quentic, a SaaS provider of EHSQ and ESG management software. The deal closed after German regulatory approval in June/July 2022 and was completed alongside a new equity investment in AMCS from Clearlake Capital and co-investments from Insight Partners, Ireland Strategic Investment Fund and Highland Europe.

Bentley Systems Acquires Cesium

Bentley Systems has acquired Cesium, the open platform provider of 3D geospatial tools and the Cesium ion SaaS platform, to integrate Cesium's visualization and 3D Tiles standard with Bentley's iTwin digital twin offerings. Patrick Cozzi, Cesium's CEO, will join Bentley as chief platform officer to lead the combined platform; financial terms were not disclosed.

Geodesial Group Acquires Bloc in Bloc

Geodesial Group, a France-based developer and distributor of CAD/CAE software (PE-backed by Keensight Capital), has acquired Bloc in Bloc, an augmented reality solutions provider for building and infrastructure surveys. The acquisition will integrate AR capabilities into Geodesial’s openBIM offering to accelerate growth and expand the Group’s end-to-end AEC (architecture, engineering & construction) software capabilities.
