Bentley Systems Acquires Cesium

Bentley Systems has acquired Cesium, the open platform provider of 3D geospatial tools and the Cesium ion SaaS platform, to integrate Cesium's visualization and 3D Tiles standard with Bentley's iTwin digital twin offerings. Patrick Cozzi, Cesium's CEO, will join Bentley as chief platform officer to lead the combined platform; financial terms were not disclosed.

Bentley Systems completed the acquisition of Seequent Holdings Limited for approximately $900 million in cash plus 3,141,342 BSY Class B shares, adding Seequent's 3D geological modelling and cloud geodata capabilities to Bentley's infrastructure engineering software portfolio. The deal was a purchase of the majority stake previously held by Accel-KKR and is intended to expand Bentley's subsurface and geoscience capabilities across infrastructure, energy, and natural resources markets.
