The deal adds flight‑critical power electronics (transformers, TRUs, capacitors, EMI filters) to Amca’s capabilities; Shedd Capital advised, and Amca plans to invest in engineering and product expansion to strengthen the aerospace supply chain.

Amca, an El Segundo, California-based aerospace and defense company, has acquired Aerospace Control Products, Inc. (ACPI) of Davenport, Iowa to expand its hydraulics-focused components platform by adding aerospace-grade pressure and liquid-level switch capabilities. Amca plans significant investment to expand ACPI’s manufacturing capacity and improve supply availability; Shedd Capital advised on the transaction and Aaron Ellis, ACPI’s president and former owner, will remain involved.

The Advanced Manufacturing Company of America (Amca) has acquired Cal-Draulics, a Corona, California-based supplier of high-precision hydraulic products for aerospace. The deal brings Cal-Draulics' engineering and manufacturing capabilities into Amca's family of aerospace suppliers and welcomes former owner Doug Johnson to Amca's engineering team to support expanded design, manufacturing and testing capacity.

Ampaire Acquires Magpie Aviation

Hybrid-electric propulsion developer Ampaire has acquired California-based aero tow startup Magpie Aviation. Ampaire said it will integrate Magpie's electric aero-tow concept and continue development under Magpie's existing contract with the U.S. Air Force (AFWERX Agility Prime), expanding Ampaire's capabilities for defense and advanced air mobility applications.

NMG Aerospace Acquires Matco Manufacturing

NMG Aerospace, a family-owned aerospace manufacturer based in Stow, Ohio, has acquired Matco Manufacturing, a Salt Lake City maker of aircraft wheels, brakes, and related components. The deal, finalized in Q4 2022, brings Matco's expertise in experimental, light sport, and advanced air mobility landing systems into NMG's broader design and manufacturing platform; Matco owner George Happ will remain with the business.
