Ansys has acquired Motor Design Limited (MDL), bringing MDL's Motor‑CAD electric machine design software into Ansys' multiphysics portfolio to strengthen its electrification and electric‑machine design capabilities. Terms were not disclosed; the acquisition builds on an existing partnership and aims to provide tighter integrations and an end‑to‑end workflow for electric machine design across automotive, aerospace and industrial markets.
