Providence Equity Partners has made a majority investment in Accelerate Learning, a Houston-based provider of K-12 STEM curriculum and digital learning platforms. Existing investors including funds managed by Carlyle, Quad Partners, Rice University and Owl Ventures will retain minority stakes; financial terms were not disclosed. The investment is intended to help Accelerate Learning scale growth, deepen customer relationships and pursue organic and inorganic expansion opportunities.

Revolution Capital, a Woodbridge, Ontario-based provider of factoring and cash-flow financing, has acquired Growth Capital, a Canadian factoring firm focused on the transportation industry. The deal brings Growth Capital's transportation-focused receivables financing capabilities and team (including former president Nelko Mahlyanov, who will stay on as SVP) into Revolution Capital to expand scale, capability and market share in North American factoring.

Apax said it will support Cadence's management team to continue growth through strategic acquisitions and expansion of operational capabilities; the transaction was expected to close in March 2020.
