Atlas Holdings Acquires Permasteelisa Group

Atlas Holdings has completed its acquisition of Permasteelisa Group, a global leader in the engineering, manufacturing, installation and after-sales service of advanced building façades and architectural envelopes. Permasteelisa operates in 30 countries with nine production facilities and employs more than 4,500 associates; Atlas said the purchase expands its construction and manufacturing capabilities and will support Permasteelisa's long-term growth.

Nippon Steel Acquires U. S. Steel

Nippon Steel Corporation, together with its wholly owned subsidiary Nippon Steel North America, completed the all-cash acquisition of United States Steel Corporation for $55 per share (approximately $14.1bn equity; $14.9bn enterprise value). The transaction preserves U. S. Steel's headquarters and name in Pittsburgh, includes a national security agreement (golden share) with the U.S. government, and commits roughly $11bn of new investment in U. S. Steel through 2028.

Ares Management Acquires Controlling Interest in Atlas Crane Service

A fund managed by the Infrastructure Opportunities strategy of Ares Management has acquired a controlling interest in Atlas Crane Service, a full-service crane rental and MRO provider headquartered in Aurora, Illinois. Ares will support Atlas' growth, geographic expansion and capability expansion in the wind/renewables market while Atlas' executive team, led by CEO Zach Prentis, remains in place; financial terms were not disclosed.

DBM Global (HC2) Acquires Banker Steel from Atlas Holdings

Atlas Holdings has completed the sale of portfolio company Banker Steel to DBM Global Inc., an operating subsidiary of HC2 Holdings, Inc. Banker Steel, a Lynchburg, Virginia-based structural steel fabricator and erector, expands DBM Global/HC2's east‑coast fabrication footprint and construction service capabilities. Atlas invested in Banker Steel in 2014 and grew the business through organic expansion and seven bolt-on acquisitions prior to the sale.

EVI Industries Acquires Girbau North America

Atlas Holdings Acquires Exide Americas Assets to Establish Stryten Manufacturing and Element Resources

Atlas Holdings completed a court-supervised Section 363 purchase of substantially all operating assets of the Americas business of Exide Technologies, LLC and launched two standalone companies — Stryten Manufacturing and Element Resources — to operate the acquired battery manufacturing and recycling businesses. Stryten Manufacturing (headquartered in Milton, Georgia) will operate multiple U.S. battery plants serving transportation, industrial and network-power markets, while Element Resources will own and operate lead-battery recycling facilities in Missouri and Indiana.
