Quikrete Holdings Acquires Forterra; Contech Integrates Bio Clean Products

Quikrete Holdings, Inc. completed the acquisition of Forterra, Inc., and Contech Engineered Solutions (a Quikrete subsidiary) is integrating Bio Clean’s stormwater management product lines into Contech’s portfolio. The integration brings Bio Clean’s Modular Wetlands, Kraken Filter and UrbanPond systems into Contech’s stormwater offerings to expand capabilities for owners, engineers and contractors.

Forterra said it will continue operating under the Barbour name and expects the acquisition to expand its precast footprint and growth opportunities in the Kansas City and Greater Omaha infrastructure and residential markets.

Financial terms were not disclosed; Newterra's CEO Tom Vossman and the executive team will remain in place and Jim McGivern will join the board as Frontenac supports the company's continued organic and inorganic growth.

Evoqua Water Technologies purchased the remaining equity of San Diego-based Frontier Water Systems, completing its acquisition after an initial majority investment in 2019. Frontier, a supplier of modular bioreactor engineered equipment for removal of selenium, nitrate and metals from industrial wastewater, will expand Evoqua’s advanced wastewater treatment capabilities; terms were not disclosed.
