Frontenac Company Acquires Newterra Group Ltd.

Frontenac Company has acquired Newterra Group Ltd., a global designer, engineer, manufacturer and servicer of modular water and wastewater treatment systems, from existing shareholders including XPV Water Partners and Angeleno Group. Financial terms were not disclosed; Newterra's CEO Tom Vossman and the executive team will remain in place and Jim McGivern will join the board as Frontenac supports the company's continued organic and inorganic growth.

Newterra Acquires H2O Engineering, Inc.

Newterra, a Frontenac-backed environmental and water-treatment platform, has acquired H2O Engineering, Inc., a San Luis Obispo-based provider of tailored water treatment systems, system integration, automation, rentals, and service. The deal expands Newterra’s West Coast engineering, manufacturing and service capabilities and broadens its end-market reach into controlled-environment agriculture, light industrial, remediation and food & beverage sectors.

Newterra Acquires Environmental Site Solutions (ESS)

Newterra Inc. acquired the assets of Environmental Site Solutions, LLC (ESS), a Seattle-area supplier of water filtration systems, rentals, filter media and turn-key change-out services. The deal expands Newterra's filtration capabilities and filter-media supply on the U.S. West Coast and broadens service coverage across municipal drinking water, construction dewatering, remediation and industrial markets.

Evoqua Water Technologies Acquires Frontier Water Systems

Evoqua Water Technologies purchased the remaining equity of San Diego-based Frontier Water Systems, completing its acquisition after an initial majority investment in 2019. Frontier, a supplier of modular bioreactor engineered equipment for removal of selenium, nitrate and metals from industrial wastewater, will expand Evoqua’s advanced wastewater treatment capabilities; terms were not disclosed.

Grundfos Acquires Metasphere

Grundfos has completed the acquisition of UK-based Metasphere, a telemetry and analytics provider for sewer and water networks, from XPV Water Partners. The deal enhances Grundfos' capabilities in IoT-enabled monitoring and analytics to help municipal customers reduce sewer overflows and improve resilience to climate change.

Kemira Acquires AquaBlue, Inc.

Kemira has acquired AquaBlue, Inc., an Ohio-based provider of industrial water and wastewater treatment services, in a deal valued at under USD 10 million. The acquisition will integrate AquaBlue into Kemira's Water Solutions business to strengthen Kemira's service-led industrial water treatment capabilities in North America and expand its offerings to food & beverage, manufacturing and healthcare customers.
