Hexagon's Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division has acquired Parma-based CAD Service to fully integrate its OpenCAD visualisation tools into HxGN EAM. CAD Service, which has a nine-person team and a longstanding partnership with Hexagon, will be consolidated into Hexagon to accelerate development of enhanced 3D visualisation capabilities for customers in manufacturing, energy, and transportation.

GlobalLogic Acquires Hexacta

GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group company, has acquired Hexacta, a Pan-Latin-America digital and data engineering firm headquartered in Uruguay. The acquisition adds more than 800 engineers across 10 development centers, expanding GlobalLogic's nearshore delivery footprint and capabilities in software, data engineering, and UI/UX services.

Cadence Acquires Hexagon's Design & Engineering Business

Cadence Design Systems completed the acquisition of Hexagon AB's Design & Engineering (D&E) business for approximately €2.7 billion in cash and Cadence common stock. Hexagon received ~3.2 million Cadence shares (about 30% of consideration) with the remainder in cash; the D&E business contributed roughly €265 million of revenue in 2024 and the sale is expected to produce a ~€1.4 billion gain for Hexagon. The deal expands Cadence's capabilities in physical AI, multiphysics and system-level design and analysis.

Hexagon AB Acquires CADS Additive GmbH

Hexagon AB has completed the acquisition of CADS Additive GmbH, an Austrian provider of software for metal additive manufacturing build preparation. The purchase expands Hexagon's additive manufacturing software capabilities by integrating CADS Additive's AM Studio build-preparation and support-structure tools into Hexagon's Nexus-enabled AM workflow and Simufact Additive simulation offerings.

The acquisition brings Projectmates into Hexagon's Geosystems division to strengthen Hexagon's construction software offering (HxGN Smart Build) for asset owners and accelerate global expansion of the platform.

Hexagon AB Acquires Xwatch Safety Solutions

Hexagon AB has acquired Xwatch Safety Solutions to strengthen its digital construction safety portfolio. Xwatch provides OEM-agnostic machine control hardware and software (height control, slew control, rated capacity indication) and will be fully consolidated into Hexagon's Geosystem division; Xwatch generated ~4 MEUR revenue in 2023 and has 17 employees mainly in the United Kingdom.
