Hexagon AB has completed the acquisition of CADS Additive GmbH, an Austrian provider of software for metal additive manufacturing build preparation. The purchase expands Hexagon's additive manufacturing software capabilities by integrating CADS Additive's AM Studio build-preparation and support-structure tools into Hexagon's Nexus-enabled AM workflow and Simufact Additive simulation offerings.

Hexagon received ~3.2 million Cadence shares (about 30% of consideration) with the remainder in cash; the D&E business contributed roughly €265 million of revenue in 2024 and the sale is expected to produce a ~€1.4 billion gain for Hexagon. The deal expands Cadence's capabilities in physical AI, multiphysics and system-level design and analysis.

Hexagon Acquires 3D Systems' Geomagic Suite and Septentrio NV

Hexagon AB has completed two acquisitions: the Geomagic software suite from 3D Systems and GNSS specialist Septentrio NV. Geomagic will operate within Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division while Septentrio will be consolidated into Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions division; the transactions closed following regulatory approvals and are expected to generate one-off integration and separation costs of ~40 MEUR.

Nexa3D Acquires Addifab

Nexa3D has completed the acquisition of Addifab, the Copenhagen-based originator of Freeform Injection Molding, to integrate dissolvable digital tooling, resins and CAD-to-tool software into Nexa3D’s ultrafast 3D printing platform. The deal expands Nexa3D’s manufacturing capabilities and EMEA footprint (customer experience, resin manufacturing and fulfillment in Copenhagen) while adding proprietary IP and accelerating resin formulation and production initiatives.
