Benford Capital Partners and its Industrial QC platform have acquired Avalon Vision Solutions, a Lithia Springs, Georgia-based maker of machine vision quality-control systems (including the MoldWatcher product). The deal is an add-on to the Industrial QC platform and expands its capabilities into the plastics and injection-molding/die-casting end markets.

KKR Acquires Industrial Physics from Union Park Capital

Investment funds managed by KKR agreed to acquire Industrial Physics from Union Park Capital. Industrial Physics is a global manufacturer of testing, inspection and measurement instruments serving food & beverage, packaging, medical and other industrial markets; KKR plans to support growth organically and via add-on acquisitions and implement an employee ownership program. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Spectris plc Acquires MicroStrain Sensing Systems Business

Spectris plc has signed a purchase agreement to acquire MicroStrain Sensing Systems Business for $37.6 million. MicroStrain, based in Williston, Vermont, reported unaudited revenue of $15.4 million for the year ended June 2022 and will be integrated into Spectris Dynamics to strengthen Spectris' sensor offering and North American presence; the deal is expected to close in the third quarter subject to regulatory approval.

Industrial Physics Acquires Steinfurth

Industrial Inspection & Analysis, Inc. (IIA), a national industrial inspection and testing services provider headquartered in Atlanta, acquired The QC Group, Inc., which will operate under the legal name QC Group, LLC. The acquisition adds QC Group’s four laboratories and capabilities in contract dimensional inspection, reverse engineering and nondestructive testing (including access to IIA’s NADCAP- and DLA-certified Sunnyvale lab), positioning IIA to expand service breadth and capacity for customers across aerospace, defense and manufacturing end markets.
