MRI Software entered into an agreement to acquire Castleton Technology Plc, a UK-based provider of cloud-based software and services for the social housing sector, in a transaction announced April 15, 2020. The acquisition (announced at ~£82.8m in press coverage) is intended to extend MRI's residential and social-housing capabilities, accelerate Castleton's cloud technology development and expand MRI's scale in the UK and Australian social housing markets.

The acquisition will integrate Gazelle's company-level predictive AI and business data into Lightcast's labor analytics products to expand capabilities for economic developers, commercial real estate brokers, and corporate sales teams; financial terms were not disclosed.
