Novo Integrated Sciences Acquires Clinical Consultants International LLC

Novo Integrated Sciences (NASDAQ: NVOS) has acquired Clinical Consultants International LLC (CCI) in an all-stock transaction, completing the purchase in April 2022. CCI, a Boca Raton–based global healthcare consulting firm led by Dr. Joseph M. Chalil, will see Dr. Chalil appointed Chief Medical Officer of Novo and President of Novomerica Health Group to expand Novo's healthcare capabilities and market entry services.

Investindustrial Acquires Proveris Scientific Corporation

An independently managed investment subsidiary of Investindustrial Growth III SCSp has acquired Proveris Scientific Corporation, a Hudson, Massachusetts-based maker of spray and aerosol analytical testing instrumentation, software and lab services focused on orally inhaled and nasal drug products (OINDP). Investindustrial will partner with Proveris' management (founder Dino Farina reinvested as a minority shareholder) to accelerate global expansion and build a broader pharmaceutical testing equipment group through organic growth and add-on acquisitions.

ACON Investments Acquires Novipax

ACON Investments has acquired Novipax, the U.S. market leader in absorbent pads for fresh meat and poultry packaging, from Atlas Holdings. The transaction transfers Novipax's absorbent pad manufacturing facilities and headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois, to ACON, while the tray business is excluded from the sale and will operate separately as NPX ONE.

Novo Integrated Sciences, through its wholly owned subsidiary Novo Healthnet Limited, completed the acquisition of Acenzia Inc., a Windsor, Ontario-based nutraceutical manufacturer and diagnostics developer. The all-share transaction closed on June 24, 2021 and is valued at $14,884,039; Novo said the purchase will give it direct control of development, manufacturing and distribution of wellness products and personalized diagnostics.

NanoImaging Services Acquires Proteos

NanoImaging Services (NIS), a cryo-electron microscopy services provider backed by Ampersand Capital Partners, has acquired Proteos, Inc., a Kalamazoo-based CRO specializing in recombinant protein and antibody production. The add-on acquisition integrates Proteos’ protein production capabilities with NIS’s cryo-EM services to create an end-to-end offering for structure-based drug discovery and protein production workflows.
