UPS to Acquire Frigo-Trans and BPL for Healthcare Cold-Chain Logistics Expansion

UPS has agreed to acquire Frigo-Trans and its sister company BPL (together “Frigo-Trans”), Germany-based providers of complex healthcare logistics. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2025 and is intended to expand UPS’s end-to-end, temperature-controlled (cold-chain) capabilities across Europe for healthcare customers.

Deutsche Post DHL Group Acquires Hillebrand from Cobepa

Deutsche Post DHL Group (DPDHL) has acquired J.F. Hillebrand Group AG from majority shareholder Cobepa and other shareholders in a bolt-on transaction, integrating Hillebrand into DHL Global Forwarding, Freight as "Hillebrand Gori - a DHL company." The deal, signed in August 2021 and closed March 22, 2022 following regulatory approval, was valued at an equity price of €1.5 billion; Hillebrand operates in over 90 countries with more than 2,700 employees and specializes in ocean freight forwarding for beverages and non-hazardous bulk liquids.

DHL Supply Chain to Acquire Strategic Delivery Solutions (SDS Rx) from HCI Equity Partners

HCI Equity Partners’ portfolio company Strategic Delivery Solutions (SDS Rx) has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by DHL Supply Chain, a division of DHL Group. The deal is expected to close by the end of 2025, pending customary approvals, and will integrate SDS Rx’s time-critical final-mile healthcare delivery services into DHL’s life sciences and healthcare logistics network.
