Greenbriar Equity Group has formed a new platform, Applied Aerospace & Defense, by combining Applied Aerospace and PCX Aerosystems to create a scaled supplier of precision flight, space and defense hardware. The combined company brings complementary capabilities in metal, composite and polymer manufacturing, more than 1,300 employees across nine locations in five states, and 1.3 million square feet of production and integration facilities to serve military, commercial aerospace and space customers.

Funds managed by Greenbriar Equity Group acquired Applied Aerospace Structures Corporation (AASC), a Stockton, California-based provider of complex composite and metal-bonded structures for space, aerospace, and defense programs. The investment will support AASC's growth and expansion plans — including organic growth and selective acquisitions — while financial terms were not disclosed.

PCX Aerosystems Acquires NuSpace

PCX Aerosystems, a Connecticut-based aerospace supplier owned by Greenbriar Equity Group, acquired NuSpace, Inc. on September 2, 2022 from Cornerstone Capital Holdings and members of NuSpace’s leadership team. NuSpace, based in Long Beach, California, designs and manufactures proprietary propellant and high‑pressure tanks for satellites, launch vehicles, spacecraft and missile platforms, expanding PCX’s flight‑critical capabilities in the space and defense markets.

Integrated Polymer Solutions (Arcline Portfolio) Acquires AkroFire

Integrated Polymer Solutions, a portfolio company of Arcline Investment Management, has acquired AkroFire, a designer and manufacturer of elastomeric fire seal solutions and cargo bay repairs serving business jet, commercial aerospace, and defense markets. The acquisition is an add-on to IPS intended to expand its aerospace sealing and engineering capabilities and scale production for OEM customers.

PCX Aerosystems Acquires Integral Aerospace from Admiralty Partners

The acquisition expands PCX's manufacturing capabilities and footprint across fixed- and rotary-wing platforms and strengthens its ability to serve OEM, Tier One and government customers.

Karman Missile & Space Systems Acquires AAE Aerospace

Karman Missile & Space Systems, a Trive Capital portfolio company, has acquired AAE Aerospace, a manufacturer of high-temperature composites used in missile, interceptor, and space propulsion subsystems. The deal expands Karman's end-to-end production capabilities for critical propulsion components and keeps AAE's senior leadership as equity holders; Trive served as the sponsor and advisors included Lazard Middle Market and D.A. Davidson.
