Pittsburgh-based private equity firm 3 Rivers Capital has acquired a majority stake in Salt Lake City–headquartered Blue Chip Group, parent of the Augason Farms emergency preparedness food brand. The investment is intended to provide capital and operational support to expand Blue Chip's dry food and beverage contract manufacturing capacity and scale Augason Farms' retail and e-commerce distribution.

Pete & Gerry's Organics Acquires Farmers Hen House

Pete & Gerry's Organics, LLC has acquired Kalona, Iowa-based Farmers Hen House, a supplier of Certified Humane organic, free-range and pasture-raised shell eggs. The acquisition adds over 90 partner family farms and a modern processing facility in Iowa, increasing Pete & Gerry's packing capacity and supporting growth across the Midwest and West; terms were not disclosed.

Blue Road Capital Acquires B&W Quality Growers from Boyne Capital

Agrality Acquires Nebraska Irrigated Seeds

The purchase adds four sites, ~400,000 sq ft of warehousing/processing capacity and access to thousands of acres of seed production, accelerating Agrality's expansion into the U.S. Midwest seed market.

Iowa American Water Acquires City of Blue Grass Wastewater System

Iowa American Water, a subsidiary of American Water, acquired the City of Blue Grass wastewater system for $2.0 million following Iowa Utilities Board approval. The acquisition adds about 750 wastewater customers to Iowa American Water's Quad Cities service area and the company plans approximately $4 million in capital investments to upgrade the system.

IQ-EQ Acquires Blue River Partners
