Ultra Intelligence & Communications (Ultra I&C) has acquired San Diego-based Expeditionary Engineering, a designer and manufacturer of rugged 3U VPX hardware for airborne and expeditionary Department of Defense applications. The deal brings Expeditionary Engineering's SPOC-compliant embedded computing platforms into Ultra I&C's secure communications and software-defined systems to enhance tactical edge processing, command-and-control, and software deployment capabilities.

Siemens has signed an agreement to acquire Cambridge, UK–based UltraSoC Technologies Ltd., a provider of embedded instrumentation and analytics for system-on-chip (SoC) monitoring, cybersecurity and functional safety. Siemens will integrate UltraSoC into its Xcelerator portfolio within the Tessent product suite to create a unified design-for-lifecycle management solution; the deal is expected to close in Siemens' fiscal Q4 2020 and terms were not disclosed.
