Tailwind Capital Acquires RANDYS Worldwide Automotive

Tailwind Capital, a New York-based middle market private equity firm, announced the acquisition of RANDYS Worldwide Automotive, a designer and asset-light supplier of engineered drivetrain products for the automotive aftermarket. Tailwind said it will partner with RANDYS' management to leverage the company's brands and customer loyalty to grow the business through new product lines and channels.

Torque Capital's investor group has completed the purchase of the North American and European light vehicle aftermarket business of Remy, Inc. from BorgWarner Inc., acquiring Remy's North American rotating electrical remanufacturing business, the Maval power steering business, and Remy Europe rotator remanufacturing operations. The deal creates a standalone Remy aftermarket business with David Nichols named president of the North American company.
