Eagle Football Holdings Bidco Limited, led by John Textor, acquired a significant controlling stake in Olympique Lyonnais Groupe SA on December 19, 2022. The transaction was backed by funds managed by Ares Management and investors Iconic Sports and Elmwood Partners; Jean‑Michel Aulas will remain as chairman and join Eagle Football's board, and Eagle Football intends to launch a tender offer (with Holnest) for remaining shares.
