Amazon to Acquire Globalstar in $11.6 Billion Satellite Connectivity Push

Amazon announced it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Globalstar for about $11.57 billion (around $90 per share) in a cash-and-stock deal. The acquisition adds Globalstar’s satellite infrastructure, spectrum licenses, and mobile satellite services capabilities to Amazon’s Amazon Leo low Earth orbit network, with Amazon planning to launch direct-to-device services starting in 2028.

DIRECTV to Acquire EchoStar’s Video Distribution Business (DISH TV and Sling TV)

DIRECTV and EchoStar entered into a definitive agreement under which DIRECTV will acquire EchoStar’s video distribution business, DISH DBS, including DISH TV and Sling TV, via a debt exchange transaction. DISH Network Acquires Republic Wireless
