French animal health equipment maker IMV Technologies has acquired UD-Vet B.V., a Benelux-based provider of veterinary practice equipment and imaging solutions. The deal brings UD-Vet's team and product/service offering into IMV's Companion Animal business to consolidate and expand IMV's presence in the Benelux region.

Merck Animal Health Acquires Elanco’s Aqua Business

Elanco Animal Health has agreed to sell its aqua business to Merck Animal Health for approximately $1.3 billion in cash. The divestiture includes aqua products and brands, aqua R&D projects, transfer of manufacturing sites in Prince Edward Island (Canada) and Dong Nai (Vietnam), and about 280 commercial and manufacturing employees, with closing expected around mid-year subject to regulatory approvals.

Altano Group Acquires Avanti Equine Veterinary Partners

Avanti—founded in 2017 with seven U.S. locations and more than 140 employees—will be integrated into Altano's expanding equine clinic platform to strengthen the group's U.S. presence and specialist capabilities.

Merck Animal Health Acquires Vence

The acquisition will expand Merck Animal Health’s animal intelligence and virtual fencing technology portfolio for cattle producers and ranchers, and is expected to close in Q3 2022 subject to customary conditions.

Elanco Acquires Prevtec Microbia

Elanco Animal Health acquired Montreal-based Prevtec Microbia, maker of the Coliprotec swine E. coli vaccine line, in an all-cash transaction of CAD $78.5 million (approx. $59.9M USD) plus contingent payments of up to CAD $21.5 million. The deal brings Prevtec's commercial vaccines and R&D pipeline into Elanco to expand its swine portfolio and provide non-antibiotic alternatives for swine producers globally.

Elanco Animal Health Incorporated completed its acquisition of Aratana Therapeutics, a developer and commercializer of specialty therapeutics for dogs and cats, including Galliprant, Entyce and Nocita. The deal expands Elanco's companion animal product portfolio and establishes a dedicated specialty veterinary commercial team to integrate Aratana's field force and pipeline.
