PaperWorks Industries Inc. has acquired Color Craft Graphic Arts, a folding carton manufacturer founded in 1929 and based in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Color Craft was a portfolio company of First Capital Partners and was advised by Mesirow; the acquisition adds ~120 employees and expands PaperWorks' integrated folding carton network and mill alignment across North America.

Bain Capital and BC Partners Enter Joint Ownership of Fedrigoni

Bain Capital Private Equity has signed definitive documents with BC Partners to establish joint ownership of Fedrigoni, the global producer of self-adhesive labels and fibre-based packaging products. The transaction combines a reinvestment by Bain with new investment from BC Partners to support Fedrigoni's M&A-led growth and sustainability agenda; the Fedrigoni family and management will remain invested and the deal is expected to close by the end of 2022 subject to regulatory approvals.

Fedrigoni Group Acquires Acucote Inc.

Fedrigoni Group has acquired Acucote Inc., a U.S.-based manufacturer and distributor of pressure-sensitive self-adhesive materials, for an undisclosed amount. Crewe Capital acted as exclusive financial advisor to Acucote; the acquisition strengthens Fedrigoni's U.S. presence and its global self-adhesives portfolio, creating production, distribution, and procurement synergies.

International Paper Acquires Berkley Molded Fiber Division

The International Paper Company has acquired Berkley International's Molded Fiber manufacturing division, Berkley MF LLC, from Berkley International. The deal transfers an 80,400 sq. ft. molded fiber plant (located outside Reno, Nevada) and capabilities for sustainable molded-pulp packaging to International Paper; the purchase price was not disclosed.

Monomoy Capital Partners Acquires Mac Papers, Inc.

Monomoy Capital Partners, a private equity firm, has acquired Mac Papers, Inc., Mac Paper Converters, Inc. and All Square Digital Solutions, Inc., a leading regional distributor of paper, packaging, envelopes and wide-format products headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. Mac Papers operates across the Southeastern United States with approximately $600 million in annual sales and roughly 950 employees; Monomoy said it will partner with management to grow the business and advance strategic and operational initiatives.

Koehler Paper Group Acquires Beaver Paper & Graphic Media, Inc.

Koehler Paper Group, a family-owned German specialty paper manufacturer, has acquired Beaver Paper & Graphic Media, Inc., a U.S.-based producer of sublimation media headquartered in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Beaver Paper — in which Koehler held a minority stake since 2016 — will remain headquartered in the Atlanta area and operate under Koehler leadership as the companies pursue product innovation, market expansion and operational synergies.
