Team Drive-Away Acquires Drive-Away Businesses of IXT Logistics and Transportation Booking Services

Olathe-based Team Drive-Away (TDA) has acquired the drive-away businesses of IXT Logistics, LLC (Kansas City, KS) and Transportation Booking Services (Kansas City, MO). The add-ons expand TDA's capacity and driver network in the Class 5-8 truck drive-away market; terms were not disclosed. TDA completed these acquisitions after its own acquisition by United Road Services (a Carlyle portfolio company).

Auto Driveaway Acquires Assets of J&J Drive-Away and J&J Freight Brokers

Auto Driveaway, backed by investors including Evanston Partners, has acquired the assets of J&J Drive-Away, Inc. and J&J Freight Brokers, LLC to expand into the heavy-truck (Class 7 and Class 8) transportation market. The deal brings J&J’s heavy-truck transport and boutique freight-brokerage capabilities into Auto Driveaway’s network (drivers operating in 49 states and parts of Canada for 500+ customers); J&J co-founder Crystal O'Dwyer and VP Kelly Rolfe remain with the business as part-owners.

Carlyle Acquires Controlling Stake in Highway Industries and Roop Automotives

The Carlyle Group, with equity from funds affiliated with Carlyle Asia Partners (CAP), completed a controlling-stake acquisition of Highway Industries Limited and Roop Automotives Limited, combining the businesses into a single platform serving global automotive OEMs. Carlyle intends to scale the platform through consolidation, operational improvements and potential synergistic add-ons to deepen capabilities across forged and precision-machined components, steering assemblies and powertrain applications.

UTAC, LLC Acquires USA Truck from DSV

DSV has sold 100% of USA Truck to UTAC, LLC, a private Arkansas-based entity formed by current and former USA Truck leaders including CEO George Henry, former CFO Zachary King and former CEO James Reed. The deal returns the 42-year-old carrier to U.S.-based ownership; financial terms were not disclosed and DSV said the sale positions USA Truck for future growth under local management.

The Universal Group (CAI Portfolio) Acquires Advanced Traffic Control (Auburn, WA)

The Universal Group, a CAI Capital Partners portfolio company, has acquired Advanced Traffic Control (ATC), a traffic control services provider based in Auburn, Washington. CAI and co-investors BDC Capital, Roynat Equity Partners and Frind Enterprises backed the transaction as equity co-investors; debt financing was provided by Bank of Montreal, CIBC and Scotiabank. This marks Universal's first U.S. acquisition as part of a contiguous Pacific Northwest expansion, and ATC's founders will remain in leadership and as shareholders.

Lithia & Driveway Acquires Carousel Motor Group

Lithia & Driveway (LAD) has purchased Carousel Motor Group, a nine-store dealer group operating premium luxury and domestic franchises in the Minneapolis–St. Paul region, adding an expected $900 million in annualized revenue. The acquisition expands Lithia's footprint in the North Central Region (including its first Ford store in Wisconsin) and was financed using existing on‑balance sheet capacity; the seller is Pohlad Companies (the Pohlad family).
