Morrison & Co-Led Consortium Acquires FiberLight

Morrison & Co, together with Australian Retirement Trust and a managed client of UBS Asset Management, signed a definitive agreement to acquire FiberLight, a U.S. fiber infrastructure provider, from Thermo Companies. The consortium will support FiberLight's network expansion across major U.S. markets to meet rising demand for high-bandwidth connectivity; terms were not disclosed and the deal is subject to customary closing conditions.

DC BLOX has acquired Southeastern dark fiber assets from Light Source Communications and Ascendant Capital (Ascendant Fiber Capital), including a long-haul route under development from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia. The transaction brings Light Source co-founders Debra Freitas and Pete Empie to DC BLOX to lead fiber development, and DC BLOX said Post Road Group, Bain Capital and Ascendant Capital Partners are providing financial support to accelerate deployment across the Southeast.

AT&T Acquires Lumen's Mass Markets Fiber Business for $5.75 Billion

AT&T has completed the $5.75 billion all-cash acquisition of substantially all of Lumen Technologies' Mass Markets fiber business, adding more than 1 million fiber subscribers and expanding AT&T's fiber footprint across 32 states. The deal brings access to over 4 million customer locations and Lumen's fiber construction capabilities, supporting AT&T's goal of reaching more than 60 million fiber locations by 2030 and enabling deeper converged broadband and 5G customer relationships.

Searchlight Capital and BCI to Acquire Consolidated Communications for $3.1 Billion

Affiliates of private equity firm Searchlight Capital Partners and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) will acquire Consolidated Communications Holdings, Inc. in an all-cash transaction valuing the company at approximately $3.1 billion including assumed debt. The deal, which was approved by the Vermont Public Utility Commission and previously by Consolidated shareholders, will take the Mattoon, Illinois–based fiber and landline provider private to provide greater flexibility to execute its fiber expansion strategy, subject to remaining federal approvals.
