Saint-Gobain to acquire Chryso from Cinven

Saint-Gobain has agreed to acquire Chryso, a global specialist in construction chemicals, from private equity firm Cinven. Headquartered in France, Chryso operates 35 industrial sites and five R&D centres, employs about 1,300 people and serves customers across more than 100 countries; the transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2021 subject to customary approvals.

Saint-Gobain Ceramics Acquires Monofrax

Saint-Gobain Ceramics (part of Saint-Gobain) has acquired Monofrax LLC, a fused-cast refractories manufacturer in Falconer, New York, from German fund Callista. The deal expands Saint-Gobain’s refractory manufacturing footprint and capabilities to better serve local customers and support co-development of low‑carbon and circular solutions for glass, metals and other high‑temperature industries.

Saint-Gobain Acquires Business Assets of International Cellulose Corporation

Saint-Gobain has acquired the business assets of International Cellulose Corporation (ICC), a Houston-based manufacturer of spray-applied, plant-fiber insulation and acoustical finishing systems. The assets — including Ecosorb International — will join CertainTeed's Commercial Building and Infrastructure business in North America, strengthening Saint-Gobain's sustainable insulation and fireproofing portfolio; ICC operates a manufacturing site in Houston with approximately 50 employees.

Saint-Gobain to Acquire The Bailey Group Companies (Bailey-Hunt) for C$880M

Saint-Gobain has signed a definitive agreement to acquire The Bailey Group Companies (Bailey-Hunt Limited and subsidiaries) for C$880 million in cash. The Canadian metal framing manufacturer reported C$532 million in 2023 sales, ~700 employees and 12 plants across Canada; the deal strengthens Saint-Gobain's light and sustainable construction offering in Canada and is expected to close in H2 2024.

Saint-Gobain Acquires Kaycan

Saint-Gobain agreed to acquire Kaycan, Ltd., a family-owned Canadian manufacturer and distributor of exterior building materials, for US$928 million and completed the transaction on July 29, 2022. The acquisition makes Saint-Gobain the top siding player in Canada, expands its vinyl offering in the United States with complementary aluminum and engineered wood solutions, and is expected to generate approximately US$30 million of run-rate synergies.
