Acme Smoked Fish Acquires Banner Smoked Fish

Acme Smoked Fish Corp. has acquired Banner Smoked Fish; terms were not disclosed. The two Brooklyn-based, family-run smoked-fish producers will combine operations (Banner moving from Coney Island into Acme’s Greenpoint facility), with Banner founder Avi Attias and his son Eli joining Acme as the company expands its product portfolio — including Banner’s CRC‑certified kosher line — and pursues national growth and a larger Florida production site.

Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) will acquire Blue North Fisheries and Clipper Seafoods and organize them under a newly formed subsidiary, Bristol Bay Alaska Seafoods, to strengthen its position in the Bering Sea freezer longline cod fishery. The deal closes on September 30 and BBNC says the acquisition will drive operational efficiencies, product expansion and greater market consolidation while retaining existing management and staff.

The deal transfers ownership from founders Gloria and Erik Ender to Acme and expands Acme's Midwest coating capacity with Freedom's 60,000-square-foot powder and electrocoating facility; Calder Capital advised Freedom Finishing on the transaction.

Rich Products Corporation has acquired Morey's Seafood International, a Plymouth, Minnesota-based processor and distributor of fresh, frozen and value-added seafood products, for an undisclosed amount. The deal brings roughly 200 Morey's associates and a 65,000-square-foot facility into Rich’s portfolio (which includes the SeaPak brand) and is intended to expand Rich's value-added seafood capabilities and product offerings in the U.S. market.
