Eddie M's Acquires American Fish and Seafood

Eddie M's has acquired and merged with Minnetonka-based American Fish and Seafood Inc., consolidating processing and distribution operations at Eddie M's 65,000 sq ft Plymouth, Minnesota facility. The deal preserves American Fish's legacy while expanding Eddie M's product assortment and capacity to serve retail and foodservice customers across the Midwest; terms were not disclosed.

Watsco Acquires Acme Refrigeration

Watsco, Inc. completed the acquisition of Acme Refrigeration, a Baton Rouge-based distributor of HVAC and refrigeration products. Acme operates 18 locations across Louisiana and Mississippi and generated approximately $60 million in revenue in 2020; Watsco said the deal supports its buy-and-build strategy to expand its HVAC/R distribution footprint.

Cape May Brewing Co. Acquires Flying Fish Brewing Co.

Cape May Brewing Co. has acquired all assets of Flying Fish Brewing Co., including its Somerdale tasting room, in a deal intended to expand Cape May's production, warehouse capacity and regional distribution. Beers from both breweries will continue to be sold independently while Cape May leverages the acquisition to grow its craft beer, hard seltzer and malt beverage offerings across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Bristol Bay Native Corporation Acquires Blue North Fisheries and Clipper Seafoods

Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) will acquire Blue North Fisheries and Clipper Seafoods and organize them under a newly formed subsidiary, Bristol Bay Alaska Seafoods, to strengthen its position in the Bering Sea freezer longline cod fishery. The deal closes on September 30 and BBNC says the acquisition will drive operational efficiencies, product expansion and greater market consolidation while retaining existing management and staff.

Acme Finishing Company Acquires Freedom Finishing

Acme Finishing Company of Elk Grove Village, Illinois has acquired Freedom Finishing of Benton Harbor, Michigan. The deal transfers ownership from founders Gloria and Erik Ender to Acme and expands Acme's Midwest coating capacity with Freedom's 60,000-square-foot powder and electrocoating facility; Calder Capital advised Freedom Finishing on the transaction.

Rich Products Acquires Morey's Seafood International

Rich Products Corporation has acquired Morey's Seafood International, a Plymouth, Minnesota-based processor and distributor of fresh, frozen and value-added seafood products, for an undisclosed amount. The deal brings roughly 200 Morey's associates and a 65,000-square-foot facility into Rich’s portfolio (which includes the SeaPak brand) and is intended to expand Rich's value-added seafood capabilities and product offerings in the U.S. market.
