Tropical Cheese Industries Acquires Cibao Meat Products

Tropical Cheese Industries, a PE-backed Hispanic dairy and refrigerated foods platform, has acquired Cibao Meat Products and will integrate it as the Cibao Meat Products Division. The deal (terms undisclosed) strengthens Tropical Cheese’s meats offering, adds cold‑chain logistics capabilities, gives the Vieluf family a rolled equity stake, and expands the combined company’s reach across the U.S. East Coast.

Parcom Acquires Group of Butchers from Equistone

Dutch private equity firm Parcom Private Equity has agreed to acquire the majority stake in Group of Butchers from funds advised by Equistone Partners Europe. Group of Butchers, headquartered in Tilburg, Netherlands, is a leading manufacturer and supplier of artisanal meat products (about 900 employees; ~€280m revenue forecast for 2020); Parcom intends to support further buy-and-build expansion and broaden the company’s customer and product portfolio. The financial terms were not disclosed and the deal is subject to competition approval.

Sartori Cheese Acquires Rumiano Cheese; Masters Gallery Foods Buys Rumiano Converting Facilities

Sartori Cheese, a fourth-generation family-owned cheesemaker, has acquired Rumiano Cheese Company, a Northern California organic cheese and butter producer, to expand its product offerings and market reach. Separately, Masters Gallery Foods purchased Rumiano's converting (packaging) facilities in Willows, California; Brown Gibbons Lang & Company served as exclusive financial advisor to Rumiano.

Giorgi Mushroom Co. Acquires L.F. Lambert Spawn Co.

Giorgi Mushroom Co., a mushroom-focused subsidiary of The Giorgi Companies, acquired majority equity ownership in L.F. Lambert Spawn Co. on July 1. The acquisition is intended to strengthen Giorgi's supply-chain security and combine the resources and expertise of both companies to better serve commercial mushroom growers.

Premium Brands Acquires NSP Quality Meats, Casa Di Bertacchi and Italia Salami

Premium Brands Holdings Corporation completed the acquisitions of NSP Quality Meats, Casa Di Bertacchi and Italia Salami for a total purchase price of US$66.0 million (US$50.0 million cash, US$10.0 million common shares and US$6.0 million contingent consideration). The three businesses have combined annual sales of approximately US$200 million and will add cooked-protein and cured-meat production capacity to Premium Brands' Specialty Foods Group; the company also completed a US$68.0 million sale-and-leaseback of an expanded Hempler's production facility.
